शमूएल के दूसरी पुस्तक अध्याय 7

जब राजा अपने भगवान में रहता था और यहोवा ने उनको उसके चारों ओर के सब वस्तुओं से विश्राम दिया था तब राजा नाथन नाम भविष्यवक्ता से कहने लगा देख मैं तो देव दारू के बने हुए घर में रहता हूं परंतु परमेश्वर का संदूक तंबू में रहता है नाथन ने राजा से कहा जो कुछ तेरे मन में हो उसे कर क्यों किया हुआ तेरे संग है उसी दिन रात को यह हुआ यह वचन नाथन के पास पहुंचा की जा मेरे दास दारू से यह कहा यह हुआ यूं कहता है कि क्या तुम मेरे निवास के लिए घर बनाएगा जिस दिन से मैं इसराइल को मित्र से निकाल लाया आज के दिन तक मैं कभी घर में नहीं रहा परम तंबू के निवास में आया जाया करता हूं जहां-जहां में समस्त इजरायल के बीच फिरता रहा क्या मैं कहीं इजरायल के किसी को तरह से जिसे मैं अपने राजा इजरायल की चरवाही करने को ठहरता हो ऐसी बात कभी की तू ने मेरे देवदारों का घर क्यों नहीं मनाया इसलिए आप तो मेरे दौड़ से यह कहा कि सेनन का यहोवा क्यों कहता है कि मैं तो मुझे भेद साल से और भेड़ बकरियों के पीछे फिरने से इस मानसा से बोल दिया कि तू मेरे राजा इजराइल का प्रधान हो जाए और जहां कहीं तू आया गया वहां मैं तेरे संग रहा और तेरे समस्त शत्रुओं को तेरे सामने से नाश किया है फिर मैं तेरे नाम को पृथ्वी पर के बड़े-बड़े लोगों के नाम के समान महान कर दूंगा और मैं अपनी प्रजा इजरायल के लिए एक स्थान करूंगा और उसकी स्थिर करूंगा कि वह अपने ही स्थान में बसी रहे और कभी चलाएं मानना होगी और कुटीर लोग उसे फिर दिखना देने पाएंगे जैसे कि पहले दिन में करती थी वरुण उसे समय से भी जब मैं अपनी प्रजा इजरायल के ऊपर न्याय ठहरता था और मैं तुझे यह मेरे समस्त शत्रुओं से विश्राम दूंगा और यह हुआ तुझे यह भी बतलाया है कि यहोवा तेरा घर बनाए रखेगा जब तेरे आयु पूरी हो जाएगी और तू अपने पुरखों के संग सो जाएगा तब मैं तेरे नीचे वंश को तेरे पीछे खड़ा करके उसके राज को स्थिर करूंगा मेरे नाम का घर वही बनाएगा और मैं उसकी राजगद्दी सदैव स्थिर रखूंगा मैं उसका पिता था करूंगा और वह मेरा पुत्र ठहरेगा यदि वह धर्म करें तो मैं अपने उसे पुरुष के योग्य दंड से और आदमियों के योग मार से ताड़ना दूंगा परंतु तेरी करुणा उसे पर से ऐसी ना हटेगी जैसे मैंने सालों पर से हटा उसको तेरे आगे से दूर किया वरुण तेरा घर आना और तेरी दौड़ मेरे सामने सदा अटल बना रहेगा तेरी गलती सदैव बने रहेगी इन सब बातों और इस दशा के अनुसार सनातन में दाऊद को समझा दिया तब दौड़ राजा भीतर जाकर यहोवा के समझ बैठा और कहने लगा है प्रभु यहोवा क्या कहूं और मेरा घर आना है कि तू मैं तुझे यहां तक पहुंचा दिया है परंतु तो भी है प्रभु यहोवा यह तेरी दृष्टि में छोटी सी बात है क्योंकि तूने अपने दास के घर आने की विषय आगे के बहुत दिनों तक की चर्चा की है और हे प्रभु यहोवा यह तो मनुष्य का निश्चय है दौड़ तुझे और क्या कह क्योंकि तूने अपने दास के घर आने के विषय आगे यह बहुत दिनों तक चर्चा की है और हे प्रभु यह हुआ यह तो मनुष्य का नियम है दौड़ तुझे और क्या कह सकता है प्रभु यहोवा तू तो अपने दास को जानता है तो मैं अपने वचन में निर्मित और अपने ही मन के अनुसार यह सब बड़ा काम किया है कि तेरा दास उसकी जान ले इस कारण है प्रभु कारण है यह हुआ परमेश्वर तू महान है क्योंकि जो कुछ हमने अपने कानून से सुना है उसके अनुसार तेरे तुल्य कोई नहीं और ना तुझे छोड़ कोई और परमेश्वर है फिर तेरी प्रजा इजरायल की भी तुल्य कौन है वह तो पृथ्वी बार में से एक ही जाती जिसमें परमेश्वर ने अपनी जाकर अपनी नीच प्राइस क्या करने की छुड़ाया इसलिए कि वह अपना नाम करें और तुम्हारे लिए बड़े-बड़े काम करें और तू अपनी प्रजा के सामने जिसे तूने मित्र आदि जाति जाति के लोग और उसके देवताओं से छुड़ा लिया अपने देश के लिए भयानक कम करें और तूने अपनी प्रजा इसराइल को अपनी सदा की प्रजा होने के लिए ठहराया और है यह हुआ तो आप उसका परमेश्वर है आप ही यहोवा परमेश्वर ने जो वचन अपने दास के और उसके घर आने के विषय दिया है उसे सदा के लिए स्थिर कर और आपने खाने के अनुसार ही कर और यह कहकर कि लोग तेरे नाम की महिमा सदा किया करें कि सेनन का यहोवा इजरायल के ऊपर परमेश्वर है और तेरे दांत दौड़ का घराना तेरे सामने अटल रहे क्योंकि यह सेनन किया हुआ है इजराइल के परमेश्वर तूने यह कह कर अपने दास पर प्रकट किया कि मैं तेरा घर बनाऊंगा बना रखूंगा इस कारण तेरे दास को तुझ से यह प्रार्थना करने का किया हुआ और अब हे प्रभु यह हुआ तू ही परमेश्वर है और तेरी वचन सत्य है और तूने अपने दास की यह भलाई करने का वचन दिया है तो आप प्रसन्न होकर अपने दास के घर आने पर सियासी देखी वह तेरे समझ सदैव बना रहे क्योंकि है यह हुआ तूने ऐसा ही कहा है और तेरे दास का घर आना तो उसे आशीष प्रकार सदैव धन्य रहे

Wherever I have gone among all Israel, have I ever asked anyone to shepherd my king Israel?' He said to me, 'Why have you not built my house of cedars?' Therefore you said to my son, 'What does the Lord of Israel say? I have kept you from following the flocks and from following the sheep.' He said to me, 'Become the leader of my king Israel, and wherever you go, you shall be the shepherd of my king Israel.' I have been with you there and destroyed all your enemies before you. I will make your name great like the names of the great people on earth. I will establish a place for my people Israel and will establish them, so that they may live in their own place and walk forever. The people will see them again, as they did in the first days when I judged my people Israel. I will give you rest from all my enemies. I have also told you that the Lord will establish your house. When your days are over and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up a descendant after you and establish his kingdom. He will build a house for my name and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he does righteousness, I will punish him with the punishment befitting a man, with the punishment of men. But your mercy will not depart from him as I removed the years from before you. Your coming home and your running will be before me forever. Your mistake will be steadfast. All these things and this condition will remain forever. Then King David was explained to him. Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, "Lord, what should I say? I have brought you this far. But still, Lord, this is a small thing in your sight, because you have discussed for a long time about the return of your servant to his home. O Lord, this is the decision of man. You will do great things and you will do great things for your people, whom you rescued from the nations and their gods. You have appointed your people Israel to be your people forever. And this has happened, so you are their God. You are the Lord God. Establish forever the promise you made regarding your servant and his house. Do as you said, saying, "Let people glorify your name forever, saying, 'The Lord of Israel is God over Israel, and let the house of your servant be established before you.' Because this has happened, O Lord of Israel, you revealed this to your servant by saying, 'I will build your house and preserve it.' Therefore, you made your servant pray to you. And now, O Lord, this has happened. You are God, and your word is true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant. So you will be pleased when your servant returns home. May it remain in your mind forever, because this has happened, you have said so. May your servant return home blessed and blessed forever.
