जब तेरा परमेश्वर यह हुआ उन जातियों को नाश करें जिनके देश हुआ तुझे देता है और तू उसके देश का अधिकारी होकर उसके नगर और घरों में रहने लगे तब अपने देश के बीच जिसका अधिकारी तेरा परमेश्वरी हुआ तुझे कर देता है तीन नगर अपने लिए लाल कर देना और तू अपने लिए मार्गम भी तैयार करना और अपने देश के दो जो तेरा परमेश्वर यह हुआ तुझे शॉप देता है तीन भाग करना ताकि हर एक खूनी वही भाग जाए और जो खूनी वहां भाग कर अपने प्राण को बचाए वह किस प्रकार का हुआ अर्थात वह किसी बिना पहले और मेरे रखे या उसको बिना जाने मुझे मार डाला हो जैसे कोई किसी के सॉन्ग लकड़ी काटने को जंगल में जाए और वृक्ष काटने की कुल्हाड़ी हाथ में उठा कुल्हाड़ी पेट से निकालकर उसे भाई को ऐसे लगे कि वह मर जाए जो आऊं नगरों में से किसी में भाग कर जीवित रहे ऐसा ना हो कि मार्ग को लंबाई के कारण खूब खून का पलटी लेने वाला अपने क्रोध में ज्वलन में उसका पीछा करके उसको जहां पड़े मार डाले यदि अभी वह प्राण दायक योग्य नहीं क्योंकि उसने बैर नहीं रखता है इसलिए मैं तुझे यह आज्ञा देता हूं कि अपने लिए तीन नगर अलग कर रखना और यदि तेरा परमेश्वर यह हवाओं को शपथ के अनुसार जो उनसे तेरे पूर्वजों से खाई थी तेरे सियाणा को बढ़ाकर वह हम सारा देश तुझे दे इसके देने का वचन उसने तेरे पूर्वजों को दिया था यदि तू इन सब आज्ञाओं के मन उन्हें मैं आज तुझको सुनाता हूं चौकसी कर और अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से प्रेम रखें और सदा उसके मार्ग में चला रहे जो इन तीन नगरों से अधिक और भी तीन नगर अलग कर देना इसलिए कि तेरे उसे देश में जो तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा तेरा निज भाग करके देता है किंतु निर्दोष का खून ना भाई और उसका दोस्त तुझ पर ना लगे परंतु यदि कोई किसी से बैर रखकर उसकी हाथ में लगे और उसे पर लपक कर ऐसा मारे कि वह मर जाए और फिर उसे नगर में से किसी में भाग जाए तो उसके नगर के पुराने किसी के भेज कर उसके वहां से मांग कर खून से पलटा लेने के हाथ में शॉप देखी वह हमार डाला जाए जिस पर तरस ना खाकर परंतु निर्दोष के खून का दोष इजराइल से दूर करना जिस में तेरा भला हो जो देश तेरा परमेश्वर यह हुआ तुझको देता है उसका जो भाग तुझे मिलेगा उनमें से किसी का सी होना जिसे अगले लोग नेता ठहराया होना हटाना किसी मनुष्य की विरोध किसी प्रकार के आधार माया पाप के विषय में चाहे उसका पाप कैसा ही क्यों ना हो तो एक ही जन्म साक्षी ना सुनता परंतु जो दो या तीन साथियों के खाने से बात पक्की तारे यदि कोई झूठी साक्षी देने हुआ लेकिन किसी के विरुद्ध हुआ से फिर जाने की साक्षी देने को खड़ा हो तो वह दोनों मनुष्य उसके बीच ऐसा मुकदमा उठा हो यह हुआ कि समझ अर्थात उन दिनों के राजा और न्यायियों के सामने खड़े किए जाए तब नहीं आई भली भांति पूछताछ करें और यदि यह निर्णय पाए कि वह झूठा साक्षी और अपने भाई के विरुद्ध झूठी साथी दी तो अपने भाई की जैसी भी हानि करवाने की युक्ति उसने की हो वैसे ही तुम भी उसकी करना इसी रीति से अपने बीच में से तो ऐसी बुराई को दूर करना और दूसरे लोग सुनकर तारे और आगे को तेरे पीछे फिर ऐसा बुरा काम नहीं करें और तू बिल कल तरस ना खाना प्राण की शांति प्राण का आंख की शांति आंख का दांत की शांति दांत का हाथ की शांति हाथ का पांव की शांति पांव का दंड देना

When your God destroys the nations whose land he gives you, and you take possession of it and dwell in its cities and houses, then you shall set apart for yourself three cities in the land which your God gives you to possess, and you shall prepare a way for yourself. Divide your land, which your God gives you, into three parts, so that every murderer may flee there. And whoever flees there and saves his life, what kind of murderer he is; that is, if he kills someone without my knowledge, like someone who goes into the forest to cut wood, and takes an axe in his hand, and takes it out of his belly and strikes his brother so that he dies.
